TechKnowledge Birmingham was formed in July 2009 by Bill Ivey and Robin
Cooper. Bill and Robin worked as a team for over seven years creating
training solutions for clients through a national vendor.
As we developed custom solutions to help several large
organizations transition to Office 2007, we realized that we were
discovering a new niche for ourselves. By providing highly customized
solutions, we were helping keep productivity high while hundreds of
end-users moved to Office 2007. As many of you know, that transition is
not an easy one. We are currently preparing for migrations to Office
2010.
We create innovative custom training solutions in a broad range of
subject matter, from Microsoft Office to Project Management. We can call
on a wide variety of subject matter experts to help us bridge the
digital divide between our customers and the technologies they use.

We also offer development services to our premier customers. Our goal
is to provide the highest level of customer service before, during, and
after implementation.
The demand for high-quality training on custom-built applications is
high—and those solutions are scarce. We therefore have developed a web
application that will allow any organization to record its own training.
Use your subject matter experts and deploy to your network with ease.
Our launch will be dedicated to Microsoft Office knowledge transfer for
individual subscribers. The second will allow our clients to utilize our
content along with their own proprietary content.
For several years, we’ve worked hard to be leaders in the vibrant
local technical community. In addition to our volunteer work with
TechBirmingham, we also host TechBirmingham’s Tech Friday event each
month. There are two purposes to Tech Friday: networking and knowledge
transfer. We always have a high-quality guest speaker. There is never a
dull moment. Find out more about Tech Friday by joining our LinkedIn
Group, Tech Friday Birmingham, or by visiting
www.techbirmingham.com.
Robin is the veteran blogger in our group. Visit her
www.knowledgeworkerblog.com for tons of Office tips and tricks.
Bill often tweets about human capital trends and is active on
LinkedIn. He also hosts a blog
www.untappedhumancapital.com, which chronicles the regular
“disconnect” between our great need for labor and our incredible
unwillingness to help a talented underclass find its way into the
mainstream.
We are also proud supporters of our staff blogs:
www.polkproject.com, and
millennialgirl.com/ .
